Wîcihitowin Conference 2019

“The 5th Wîcihitowin Indigenous Engagement Conference invites community organizations, governments and businesses to learn about inclusive representation of Indigenous people as employees, volunteers and decision-makers. Within the context of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, if you’re working towards respectful Indigenous engagement and inclusion in a community-based setting, this conference is for you.”

The project entailed a comprehensive list of deliverables that included designing a visual theme, full corporate website, traditional and digital advertising, and event signage.

The theme criteria was that the quote by the respective First Nations leader and Elder, Walter Linklater, should embody and showcase Mr. Linklater’s positive outlook. This was delivered through overlaying his image onto the stylized typographic quote. Colours and type treatments were taken from this initial delivery and extended across the entire program of materials.

The website was the largest undertaking and provides a solid, and functional base for the continuation of this conference in the years to come. It includes a repository for the various images and videos from the conferences and allows for detailed information and bio content for each speaker.
